Stephens College Prepares for Annual Horse Show

The Stephens College Prince of Wales Club has set the date for its 2009 annual charity horse show. The show will be held April 4 and 5 at the Midway Exposition Center, located in Columbia, Mo. Members of the Prince of Wales Club obtain experience in all aspects of planning, promoting and executing the horse show by organizing this event.

The 82nd annual show will raise money for the Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center. Cedar Creek, also located in Columbia, provides horseback riding therapy for people with disabilities. This year’s horse show will entertain spectators with special features during the Saturday night performance, such as a stick horse class, a Stephens alumnae class, and cash prize classes as well as a reception for both spectators and exhibitors.

The Prince of Wales Club, established at Stephens College in 1926, is the oldest continually active riding club in the country. The club encourages good sportsmanship, educates riders, and helps them develop an appreciation for all horse breeds and disciplines.
