Stephens College To Host 80th Annual Prince of Wales Charity Horse Show




COLUMBIA, Mo.— The Prince of Wales Club of Stephens College will host its 80th Annual Charity Horse Show from Friday, April 13-Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Midway Expositions Center, I-70 and Highway 40. The show will feature horses competing in various riding disciplines. On April 13, the jumpers will begin at 3 p.m. On April 14, the hunters will compete at 8 a.m. and the Society Show will begin at 9 a.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center of Columbia, Missouri. This event is free and open to the public.

The Prince of Wales Club, established at Stephens in 1926, is the oldest continually active riding club in the country. The club helps to educate riders, encourage good sportsmanship and develop appreciation for all horse breeds. The Prince of Wales Club also hosts and participates in a variety of equestrian events in the community.

From June 11-July 27, 2007, the Stephens College Equestrian Department will host its yearly Summer Riding Program. Members of the community, ages 8 and up, are welcome to enroll in classes pertaining to Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat or Western riding.
