LEXINGTON, KY -- Always greatly anticipated, the first night to drive through the Southern Lights Spectacular Sights on Holiday Nights will be November 18 at the Kentucky Horse Park. This year’s light display will be open until December 31 and will be highlighted by special surprise exhibits.

Southern Lights, open from 5:30pm to 10pm through December 23 (except Thanksgiving night), will include a self-guided 4-mile drive through the fabulous, new Western-themed light displays as well as traditional favorites in the park. Festivities also include a petting zoo, mini train and trolley, model railway, various live musical performances, Creative Camera Club exhibit, and visits with Santa Claus (photos with Santa are sponsored by the Lexington Rotary Club, which uses the event to raise money for purchasing gloves and coats for the needy). The park’s award-winning gift shop will be open, as will numerous holiday craft vendors and the world-famous International Museum of the Horse.
Generously sponsored by Lundy’s Special Events, KFC – JRN, Inc., Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Applebee’s, National City Bank, Hagyard Equine Medical Institute and Texas Roadhouse, Regatta Seafood Grille, McDonalds/Stanton Way, McDonalds/Plaudit Place and others, the proceeds from Southern Lights will benefit the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.
