South Central Hackney Association To Hold Essay Contest

The South Central Hackney Association announces that it will offer one scholarship to the 2002 Shamrock Farms Road Pony Camp in Smithfield, Ky. Each child wishing to be considered for the scholarship should submit an essay entitled “ Why I Want To Learn More About The Hackney” and a biographical sketch to SCHA by April 15, 2002. The scholarship will cover all camp fees, food and lodging; the selected child will be responsible for travel to and from the camp located outside Louisville. Attendees will get hands-on experience driving and riding Hackneys while learning their care, grooming techniques and general Hackney knowledge. The week includes picnics, swimming, and field trips culminating with a show to demonstrate their skills.
