Annual Shenandoah Classic is Back at the Virginia Horse Center

The arrival of horses and ponies from all over the country begins at the Virginia Horse Center on Sunday, June 16 as exhibitors begin to prepare for our annual event. The Shenandoah Classic Horse Show starts on Wednesday June 19, and runs through Saturday June 22. More than 100 classes will take place in the Waldron Arena located in the Anderson Coliseum. We will feature the world’s best American Saddlebreds and Hackney Ponies in top level competition.

The show will be accompanied by special events open to the public and the community. From Tuesday June 18 through Thursday June 20, we will host Sunrise with the Saddlebreds. From 7am to 10am, pastries and coffee will be available while enjoying and interacting with the preparation and training of these illustrious horses and ponies. On Wednesday, June 19, we will have our first evening performance. Coinciding with this event, and open to the public from 6pm to 9pm, our opening reception will be on the concourse of the Anderson Coliseum with food and beverages available for everyone’s enjoyment. On Friday June 21 at 9pm, following the close of the show, spectators, exhibitors, and trainers will gather for the Celebration of Sport with food and beverages. A Motown-inspired live band will entertain on the concourse of the Anderson Coliseum. The show will wrap up on Saturday June 22 starting at 6:30pm featuring individual championship classes. This year we will be honored with appearances from a mystery guest who will bring back memories from your past. Come out and enjoy our celebration and see if you get to spot her there.
