2006 Saddlebred Art Auction Catalog Now Available



 

The American Saddlebred Museum’s 2006 Art, Antique and Rare Book Auction catalog is now available. The catalog containing this year’s anticipated collection of consignments can be viewed online at the Museum’s Web site, www.asbmuseum.org, by clicking on the link at the top of the home page, or a hard copy can be obtained by calling the Museum at (859) 259-2746. Now in its third year, the auction will again be held at the Red Mile’s Round Barn during the Lexington Junior League Horse Show on Saturday July 15, 2006 beginning at 12 p.m.


This year’s auction includes 72 quality consignments by over 40 artists and authors. A variety of both historic and contemporary works are being offered including paintings in all media, a brass doorstop, an antique boot scraper, a variety of Saddlebred advertising memorabilia, jewelry, sculptures, rare books and antiques.


Artists and authors represented include George Ford Morris, Walter L. Brown, Helen Hayes, James L. Crow, Douwe Blumberg, Katherine Bogucki, Dimaro, Roger Hoff, Edward Penfield, Jessie Pettie, Ellen Reddy, Martha Huff, Andrea Johns, M. J. Knoud, Keith Prichard, James Pollard, Anita B. Cowart, Candace M. Liddy, Loula Long Combs, C. Marcus Stone, Judy Walter, Linda M. Lowery, James Pollard, Hubley Co., Sarah Apple Johnson, Kathleen Chism, Official Horse Show Publishing Co., P. J.’s Carousel, Kim Marie Thornborrow, H.W. Standing, Harold G. Breul, Lee Z. Kaplan, Carol Friel, LeRoy Neiman, Lowen, Jeanne Newton, Kenna Al-Sayed, Calvin Roy Kinsler, Harper’s Weekly and Judy Wood.

All auction items may be previewed at the Round Barn either on Friday evening July 14 from 5– 7:30 p.m. or on Saturday July 15 beginning at 10 a.m. A preview party is being held on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. with food and drinks being generously sponsored by Laurel Nelson, Phillipa Sledge, Lynn Snowden and Kenny and Ceil Wheeler. The public is cordially invited to attend. If you are interested in purchasing one of the consignments but cannot be present, telephone bids can be accepted with advance arrangements.
