Posted March 21, 2002
Rodney and Janet Hicks, along with their son Danny, recently hosted an open house at their new location in Richmond, Mass. Hicks is sharing the spacious, new facility with the Harry Sebring Stables, which co-hosted the afternoon.

Hackney ponies winning under the Rodney Hicks Stable banner have been common place throughout New England and the national scene. Most recently located at Somersdream in Somers, Conn., their winners have been in all the pony divisions and they have included World’s Grand Champion Silver and Gold, as well as Snuffy Smith, Johnston, Naughty By Nature, Mr. Jack Daniels, Lov Letter, Dream Boy’s Magic, and Moose Meadow’s I’m Impressed. Some of the current show string includes Silver and Gold, Totally Excellent, Motown, Dun-Haven Highly Impressive, and American Spirit.

There are several youngsters currently in training as well. “I’ve got (4) three-year-olds coming out this year,” said Hicks. “I’ve also got four nice young Morgans. We’ve worked and shown a few the past couple of years and I see that aspect of our operation expanding.” Rodney’s wife, Janet Crawford Hicks, will also continue her equine art from their new location as well as show her champion Hackney pleasure driving pony Motown. Their new address is 95 Old Richmond Rd., Pittsfield, Mass., 01201-8779.
