Riding For The Handicapped Tack Sale & Auction Features Hundreds Of Halters, Boots, Saddles & Riding

Everything from antique candlesticks to boots, saddles, halters and riding apparel will be available at the fifth annual Central Kentucky Riding for the Handicapped tack sale, silent auction and “First Dibs” breakfast to be held Saturday, March 22 at the Midway College gymnasium. The sale will be from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and those who attend the breakfast will get “first dibs” on the tack. The tack sale is open to the general public.
All proceeds will benefit the Central Kentucky Riding for the Handicapped, a program which uses the unique bond between horse and human in a very special way.
More than 200 leather halters, blankets of all sizes, riding boots, new and used saddles, jackets, helmets and other riding attire have been donated by hundreds of Central Kentucky horsemen and horsewomen.
There are also special items from Bluegrass horse owners such as a halter from the famous Thoroughbred mare All Along; a portrait of the stakes winning Johannesburg and a photograph of Giant’s Causeway. There will be equine jewelry, other horse prints and even a dessert of your choice for eight persons.
