Raleigh Spring Premier News

Officially, spring begins March 21 and officially the Raleigh Spring Premier Show begins on March 25. The three-day show is held at the Gov. James B. Hunt Horse Complex, indoors with an outside covered warm up ring and two large outdoor open rings. The facility has 500 permanent stalls with an additional 100 stalls under a covered building. Conveniently located on the grounds are a limited number of full camper hook-ups with a first come, first served basis.

Show plans are near completion and prize lists have been mailed. All officials are in place including the judges. Bret and Susi Day will mark the cards, with Bret judging Saddlebreds, Hackneys, roadsters and equitation. Susi will judge Morgans and the academy division.

Show Manager Ray Cloninger will be promoting the show in the Raleigh area to help bring new people to watch the horses. The admission is free and there will be free drawings for the spectators. The show invites all to come and help them begin the spring season and a great horse show on March 25-27. For further information call 704-458-1611 or to have a prize list mailed to you. Entries close March 2, 2010.
