Rachel Sanchez In Critical Condition

You see it on tv and read about it in the newspapers, but it never happens to you. That just changed for Michael and Stephanie Lackey Sanchez as their five-year-old daughter, Rachel, was struck in the head by a bullet while riding in a car returning home from a movie with her grandfather Steven Lackey and a younger sister. She is in critical condition at Mission St. Joseph Hospital Pediatric ICU in Asheville, N.C. A 15-year-old boy is in custody for the shooting.

Stephanie is a longtime exhibitor having shown such horses as Classic Colors, New York Trend, Another Feather, The Spitfire Special, and Prince Of Ridgefield.

The family is extremely grateful for all of the prayers and and good thoughts from the people of the equine community. The Rachel Sanchez Assist Fund has been set up c/o Taylorsville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 305, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
