Power Parade Succumbs to Colic

Power Parade, the 1992 World's Grand Champion Hackney Pleasure Driving Pony, died from colic on April 7 at his longtime home Scenic View Farm in Knoxville, Tenn.

"Power Parade was a champion every day of his life.  He was one of those special animals that influenced all of us who had the opportunity to be around him.  We will all miss him.,” said Vicki Gillenwater.

Purchased from Rex and Shirley Parkinson during his successful career as a roadster pony, Bobby Wolfenbarger, trainer for Paul, Dorothy and Vicki Gillenwater's Scenic View Farm, decided to put him in the Pleasure Pony Driving division.  Over his career, Power Parade scored countless wins at shows including the Kentucky State Fair, Lexington Junior League, Southeastern Charity, Chattanooga Charity, ASHAV, Alabama Charity Championship and other shows across the Southeast.  In 1992, he was the UPHA Hackney Pleasure Driving Pony of the Year.
