Pasquale “Patrick” Antonacci, 74, of Riverton, IL died at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital.
Patrick was born on August 4, 1932 in Springfield, the son of Oresto and Mary Crifasi Antonacci. He married Roberta Rachford on October 27, 1956 in Springfield.
Patrick was a U.S. Army Veteran. He attended Bradley University and the Chicago Art Institute.
He co-owned and operated the Lincoln Yellow Cab Company for sixty years.
Patrick served on the Board of Directors of the First Community State Bank of Staunton. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Springfield for forty years and presently held the office of Vice Chairman. He served on the Board of Directors of the Midwest Charity Horse Show for twenty-five years holding positions such as Chairman of the Board and President. He was a past member of the Roman Cultural Society
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Roberta "Bobbi" Antonacci of Riverton; three sons: Kurt Antonacci of Riverton, Paul (wife, Melissa) Antonacci of Springfield and David Antonacci of Springfield; one daughter, Alicia (husband, Joe) Wohler of Greenview; four grandchildren: Augie Antonacci, Arianna Antonacci, Emma Wohler and Tessa Wohler; one brother, Vito (wife, Shirley) Antonacci of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Over the years, the Antonaccis’ Wild Wood Farm in Riverton, IL had employed such horse trainers as Liz Kinney and Lynda Williamson (now Freseth). All four of the Antonaccis’ children rode and showed American Saddlebreds and with great success. These years in the horses meant a lot to both Pat and Bobbi as they wouldn't have traded them for anything. Over those years, the list of horses owned by the Antonaccis was lengthy and included such names as: WCC CH Tallwood Wild Fancy, WCC CH Golden Deliverance, Lordstown, Bo First, Crossfire W.W. F., Stage Struck W.W.F., Prairie Beauty, Crestopine’s Shalimar, CH Sultan’s Commander, The Frosted Jewel, Excalibur, The Estimator, Stonehedge Blazing Lady, and CH Darktown Strutter.
Visitation is scheduled Sunday, April 1, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kirlin, Egan, and Butler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 2, at Blessed Sacrament at 10:30 a.m., with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
