Ohio Greats L.F. Lavery and Paul St. Charles Pass Away

Third-generation horseman L.F. (Lonnie) Lavery passed away yesterday, October 31. He had been battling several health issues over the past few years. He was born October 21, 1947. He died from a massive stroke that occurred in his sleep, passing peacefully.

Inducted in the UPHA/Tom Moore Hall of Fame in 2002, Lavery was an accomplished horseman, judge, teacher and storyteller. From the family’s famed Richlon Farm, Lavery trained and sold many industry greats including CH Our Golden Duchess, CH Flash Gordon, CH Little Sport Model, and CH Parading Peacock.

Ironically, good friend and fellow Ohioan Paul St. Charles died the same day. St. Charles was also a well known horseman and consultant, helping many different people over the years.

More details on these renowned horsemen will be added when they are made available.
