Obituary - Scott Cook

Scott Cook passed away as a result of a massive heart attack on September 17, 2015. He was a passionate and knowledgeable, 3rd generation horseman. He and wife Darlene owned Sterling Stables for close to 35 years. Scott was a respected  judge, breeder and owner of many Champion American Saddlebred horses shown both in Canada and the United States. As past President of the American Saddlehorse Association of Ontario and  Founding Chairman of the UPHA Ontario Chapter 21, he was certainly an enthusiastic promoter of the breed.

Beloved husband of Darlene Cook. Proud and loving father of Stacey Cook and Ashley Fletcher (Ron). Son of Pat Cook and the late Jack Cook. Fondly remembered by brother in law Deryl McGray and partner Rich Hunter and sister in law Debbie Smith (Keith). Forever cherished by nephews Jason, Brandon and great niece Taylor.

Scott was the love of Darlene's life, a man who always put his family first. He was a wonderful husband and father, a thoughtful and loving son and generous and thoughtful friend. He was truly one of those "great guys" that everyone loved to be with.

Professionally, Scott was an award winning salesman selling both GM and Volvo White Heavy Trucks for over twenty-five years and then turned his attention to running his own Property Management Company, Sterling House Management.

Scott loved sports, politics, fine spirits and good friends. He was charmed by vacations in the Caribbean and loved all things food. He was an excellent cook and strived to make every occasion special for those he loved.

Donations would be greatly appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
