Obituary - Lois Vartanian



Lois Vartanian, 74, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at home. She fought a long battle with cancer. She was a member of American Saddlebred Association, American Equestrian Society, National Antivivsection and A.S.P.C.A. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, David of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lesa Rae (Bob Brewer) Vartanian of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Stella Rae Brewer and Jaclyn (Matt) Blackall; grandson, Dan Brewer; sister, Lynne R. (Carl) Zeschke; and brother, Lee G. (Ruth) Matthies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Alice Matthies.

      

Vartanian was a longtime customer of Don Judd with such champions as Titleist Scandal, CH Callaway’s True Grit and Drama. Most recently she owned and showed What A Keepsake under the Indian Creek Farm banner. In 2005, she won a reserve world championship with Keepsake among numerous other titles in the show pleasure and country pleasure driving division.
