Obituary - JoAnn H. Celecki







MENDON, N.Y. - JoAnn H. Celecki, 84, a former 33 year resident of Ledyard, N.Y., passed away on April 26, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at St. Ann’s Home, Rochester, N.Y.
 
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Al Celecki; her children, Diane (George) Garrow, Kathy (David) Waters, Mark (Kim) Celecki, and Dave (Colette) Celecki, and eight grandchildren.
 
She was a graduate of Ulster High School, of Ulster, Pa., and Mansfield State Teachers College, of Mansfield, Pa.  Jo taught home economics at Union Springs Central School for more than 20 years, until her retirement in 1993.
 
Along with her husband and family, they established Cum Laude Stables in 1970, and were well-known for breeding, training, and exhibiting Morgan Horses.  They competed in many horse shows throughout New York State and in 2006 won the Morgan World Championship in Pairs Pleasure Driving with a home bred team, in Oklahoma City, Okla.  Also during her retirement, she was an official for high school swim meets, in both the Finger Lakes League and Monroe County Leagues.

The family will receive guests for a celebration of her life from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Springside Inn, West Lake Road, Auburn, N.Y.
