Obituary - Dotty Raun

The matriarch of Reedannland, Dotty Raun passed away peacefully this morning (February 8) at the age of 91. Beloved by many in the show horse industry she was known for her kindness to all and being Doc Raun’s rock for so many decades.

Doc Raun was just honored this past weekend at the UPHA/ASHA/AHHS Convention with the Lifetime Achievement Award from AHHS and the Wing Commander Medal from ASHA. During his acceptance speech for the AHHS Lifetime Achievement Award he made reference to Dotty and her reaction when he told her he was going to receive this award. That reaction will go down in Convention history as one of the best one liners ever!

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 16th preceded by a visitation with the family beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Norwalk Christian Church in Norwalk, Iowa.
