Northeastern Hackney Association Awards

Posted April 5, 2002 On March 3, the Northeastern Hackney Association held its annual awards banquet at the Sturbridge Host Hotel. Awards were presented as follows:
Open/Amateur Harness Pony: Happy Talk owned by Irene York
Open/Amateur Hackney Pony: Model of Excellence owned by Dawn DelTorchio
Open/Amateur Roadster Pony: A Step Ahead owned by Tammy Holbrook
Hackney Pleasure Driving: Megabucks owned by Irene York
Hackney Model in Hand: A Step Ahead owned by Tammy Holbrook
A new hackney horse pleasure driving/carriage division was added with points accumulating toward year end awards.
An auction was held to help raise money for future events, such as attendance at the Equine Affaire. John Bennett was the auctioneer.
The new elected officers for the year 2002 are Dawn DelTorchio, president; Courtney Cahill, vice president; John Mashuta, secretary; and Janet Laivo, treasurer.
The next meeting will be held at the UPHA 14 Horse Show in April at the stalls of High Tail Acres. Anyone who would like to be a member or would like more information, should contact John Mashuta at 401-231-9271.
