Nominations for UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame Now Being Accepted

The United Professional Horsemen's Association is accepting nominations for its annual UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame. UPHA is proud to offer two UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame Awards again this year; one presented at Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show, Lexington, Kentucky in July and the other at the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in October.

The UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame award has been renamed the Jesus Gonzales Gomez UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame in memory of the first recipient of the award. Jesus was a caretaker at Kalarama Farm for over 40 years.

The UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame is given to an individual who has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to providing excellent care of horses/ponies. He or she must share enthusiasm and loyalty with his/her barn family and maintain perseverance in the face of adversity.

Nominations are due June 1, 2021.

Nominations must be submitted in writing or via email detailing why the candidate is deserving of the honor. Nominations should be emailed to [email protected], faxed to (859) 255-2774 or mailed to UPHA, 4059 Iron Works Parkway, Suite 2, Lexington KY 40511.
