Nichols Donate Pony As Fundraiser for AHHSF

The American Hackney Horse Society Foundation is pleased to announce an important donation to the AHHSF from Carl and Kathryn Nichols, Crystal Creek Farm, Winterville, Ga. As avid supporters of the AHHSF Educational Scholarship Program, the Nichols will donate a Hackney pony futurity colt to the AHHSF to be sold; the proceeds from the sale will provide scholarship funds to be awarded to a incoming college freshmen each year.

This ongoing donation will be sold through Superior Sales LLC, along with other donated items which will benefit the AHHSF, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, during The Fall Sale, Nov. 26-27, 2010 at the National Equestrian Center, Lake Saint Louis, Mo.

It is hoped that other Hackney breeders will follow this lead in support of the AHHSF’s support of educational scholarships for young people. Carl and Kathryn Nichols have become prominent Hackney breeders in recent years resulting in world’s champion Hackney ponies and a noteworthy breeding program participating in Hackney futurity programs and the AHHS Limited Breeders’ Stakes with great success.

In discussion of this donation, Carl Nichols stated, "Kathryn and I are so pleased to be able to donate a pony for the Superior Sales Fall Sale to help raise money for the AHHSF Scholarship Program. We believe that education is the key to our future and we believe in the scholarship program. We hope that raising money for the program by donating a pony for the sale becomes an annual event."
