News From The Vermont Spring Classic Morgan Horse Show

The 2006 Vermont Spring Classic Morgan Horse Show will be held May 17-20 at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA.  Judges include John Hufferd and Terry Jones Brennan in the main ring.  Marjorie Kittredge will judge riding dressage and Jean Kinsella will handle carriage driving.

New this year is an added incentive aimed at increasing participation in the In-Hand division, which has diminished at all shows across the country.

Several prominent stables and breeders have joined forces to offer five $500-winning-entry-take-all classes.  Included are the Junior Champion Mare, Junior Champion Stallion, Senior Champion Mare, Senior Champion Stallion, and Grand Champion Gelding – all to be held during the opening session on Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday night will be another group of five $500-winning-trainer-take-all open classes.  Included are the Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Pleasure Driving, English Pleasure and Park Saddle championships.

Saturday night features an enormously popular slate of amateur championships.  Don’t forget the parties on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights!

Also new this year – a dressage ring with sand footing as promised by the great folks at Eastern States.
