New England Morgan Adds Pink Ribbon Class

Fred Nava, Show Manager is pleased to announce the addition of the UPHA Pink Ribbon Class to the 2008 New England Morgan Horse Show. "The Show Committee unanimously voted to apply for the class and support the cause. The committee is honored to join other shows like the American Royal National Championship Horse Show in the fight against breast cancer."

The Ladies English Pleasure Championship has been designated the UPHA Pink Ribbon Class. The class will be held during the afternoon session on Saturday.

All types of cancer affect our family and friends. Co-Chairmen Christine Nava and Debra Lane view the show’s involvement with the Pink Ribbon Class as "an opportunity to support those living with cancer, celebrate cancer survivors, and remember those we have lost to the disease. Our goal throughout the week in Northampton is to bring awareness and show our support to Morgan families dealing with the disease."

We anticipate the fairgrounds will be a "sea of pink," on Saturday as exhibitors, trainers, vendors, show staff and officials and horse enthusiasts will be asked to wear pink.

Opportunities will be available for those who choose to donate to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure. Funds solicited during the week will be forwarded to the UPHA Foundation and added to UPHA’s goal of raising $100,000.

As it becomes available, information regarding the NEMHS and the UPHA Pink Ribbon Class will be on the show’s website at www.nemha.com. You may also direct your questions to Debra Lane dlane3@maine.rr.com or (207) 232-7677.
