Morgan Stallion Sweeps to Award $30,000 in Prize Money at New England Regional



The Morgan Stallion Sweeps (MSS) Committee is gearing up for the first class that will benefit from prize money from the program, at the New England Regional Morgan Horse Show, which takes place July 23-27 in Northampton, Massachusetts. $30,000 in prize money will be awarded in the Two-Year-Old Park Harness Stake, scheduled for the Thursday evening performance. The class is open to any registered two-year-old. Prize money will be paid out through 8th place, and pinning’s will be announced in reverse order. In the event of less than eight entries, prize money will be redistributed and all $30,000 will be paid out based on the number of entries. 

The prize money will be paid out as follows: 

Champion: $10,000
Reserve Champion: $5,000
3rd Place: $3,500
4th Place: $3,000
5th Place: $2,250
6th Place: $2,250
7th Place: $2,000
8th Place: $2,000

“We are very excited to offer a stake for young performance horses that pays out through eighth place,” said Jenny Taylor chair of the Morgan Stallion Sweeps. “This program was a great success in its first year and we are so looking forward to continuing the success this year and into the future.”

The funds that were raised to pay out the prize money are proceeds from ticket sales in the Morgan Stallion Sweeps, drawings for breeding’s to 17 top Morgan Stallions. The stallions offered in the 2018-2019 program include: Astronomicallee, Bazinga, Cedar Creek Harlequin, DBA Street Talk, Dragonsmeade Axios, Dragonsmeade Spectre, Dressed Up GCH, Futurity French Command, Get Busy, Graycliff Tony GCH, HVK Bell Flaire, Liquid Assets, Minion Millennium, No Contest GCH, Stand And Deliver GCH, Stonecroft Masquerade and Town Assets. 

The committee wishes to thank and acknowledge all stallion owners, the stallion agents, industry connections and publications that have made this a successful program. In addition, the committee is appreciative of the New England Show Committee and New England Morgan Horse Association for their support in this project.
