Mid-West Fall Sale

October 23 & 24, 2015

The Mid-West Hackney Association will be holding their annual fall sale at the
Livestock Center Arena on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois.
Beginning at 6:30 pm on Friday evening, the event will start out with a series of
clinic presentations with Amber Kildow-Montgomery, Matt Schuckert, Chris
Gantley, Rick Medd and Dr. Alan Raun on board. All are welcome to attend and it
should be of interest to all involved in the equine business.

Following the clinic will be the Mid-West Hackney General Membership meeting
and again, all are welcome to attend.

The tack sale will begin on Saturday morning at 8:30 am and we urge anyone that
has tack or carts to sell to bring them to the sale. The Mid-West tack sale always
has a good demand for quality tack and vehicles and since this sale is again held
during the time the Mane Event Horse show is going on in the coliseum, there will
also be interest in horse equipment.

The pony sale will start after the tack sale ends and this sale always offers some
top prospects as well as breeding stock. We are accepting consignments of all
breeds, not just Hackney. At this year’s Illinois State Fair, ponies that were
consigned to past Mid-West sales were in the top money in many divisions.
Nookwood Abracadabra was the winner of the Mid-West Hackney futurity 3 year
old harness class as well as the UPHA Harness Pony Class, Mr Naples was the top
pony in the open harness class and champion harness pony of the show, and
Knight’s Electric Starlight took top honors in the Mid-West Hackney futurity 2 year
old mare class. Other top ponies that were consigned to past sales were
Leelanau’s Cracker Jack, winner of the junior harness pony class, Heartland Macho
Man, topping the AHHS medallion pleasure driving class and he was followed by
Northview’s North Star in the reserve position. Taking reserve in the Open
Harness Pony Class was Heartland Boy On The Block, another pony that sold on a
Mid-West sale.

Deadline for consignments is September 25th to be included in the sale catalog
and also listed on our website. Consignments will be accepted after that date, but
they will be listed on a sale supplement as well as the website. We are also again
offering our Sale Buy-In Incentive at this sale to those Hackney ponies that are of
futurity age, but have not been nominated in the Mid-West futurity. All fees must
be paid on sale day and all the details of this offer are posted on our website at
www.midwesthackney.com so keep checking to see updated information on the
sale as well as the consignments as they come in.

If you think you can’t find top quality stock for show or breeding, you haven’t
been looking! Make plans to attend this year’s sale and find your next winner!
