Midwest Charity Horse Show Association Annual Meeting



SPRINGFIELD, Ill.-On Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, the Midwest Charity Horse Show Association will hold its annual meeting in Springfield at Indigo at 6 p.m., Indigo is located at 3013 Lindbergh Blvd. After a festive dinner the Association will present a $15,000 check to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Camp COCO from proceeds of the 2013 multi-breed Midwest Charity Horse Show.

Since its inception, the Midwest Charity Horse Show, an all volunteer, non-subsidized organization, has donated its annual proceeds to a Springfield area charity and has selected Camp COCO as the beneficiary
since 1988, creating an endowment fund, with its cumulative donation totaling $182,500.
 
The Association will also elect six board members to serve three-year terms, immediately followed by a board meeting to elect officers who serve two-year terms. Current board members are: David Antonacci, Kurt Antonacci, Phillip Bisch, Paul Briney, Paula Briney, Eric Carter, Traci Cline-Carter, Carole Kennedy, Judy Kjellander, Karl Luthin, Kate Luthin, Jeff McClean, Margaret Strano, Marjorie Strano, Marilyn Weber and Glenn A. Werry. Officers include: Judy Kjellander, President; Carole Kennedy, Vice President; Traci Cline-Carter, Secretary and Marjorie Strano, Treasurer. Also in the coming month the Class committee will be meeting to review the current slate of classes and make updates for the 2014 show.
 
Dates for the 73rd Midwest Charity Horse Show will be June 10-14, 2014. Midwest’s distinguished panel of judges includes: Paul Boone, Concord, NC; Gene Van Der Walt, Shelbyville, KY; and Lisa Waller, Heiskell, TN.

Midwest Charity Horse Show is held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Coliseum in Springfield. The show has performances daily at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
 
As tradition dictates, the Midwest Charity Horse Show will delight and entertain exhibitors with their legendary hospitality with nightly parties, Tuesday-Friday nights, after the last class in barn 25Q, the famous “Party Barn.”
