Midwest Charity Horse Show Announces Junior Judging Contest for 2006 Show

SPRINGFIELD, IL - The Midwest Charity Horse Show, June 13-17, 2006, announces plans to hold an ASHA Junior Judging Contest on Sat., June 17 of the show. Judging will begin at 11 a.m. and participants will judge four to 16 classes, of their choice, with at least four horses in each class. Participants will meet with Kay Richardson and one of the official judges prior to the judging event. Junior Judging Contest information will be posted on the bulletin board in the horse show office.

The ASHA Junior Judging Contest is an excellent opportunity for our industry’s young people interested in learning what it takes to be a horse show judge. For their efforts, ribbons and trophies will be awarded in two age groups: 13 years and under and 14-17 years of age.

Midwest’s official judging panel this year includes Ellen Beard, Nancy Becker, Jimmy Robertson and Bonnie Sogoloff. Midwest runs five days with class sessions at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. This year’s show will feature a full line-up of classes for Saddlebreds, Roadsters, Hackney and Harness ponies, Morgans and Arabians. In addition to the horse show, the traditional Midwest Charity Horse Show “Party Barn” will again serve-up its generous hospitality with parties Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights after the last class. All free and open to the public.
