Tuesday, March 13, 2007
The 30th annual Mid-Summer Classic Horse Show will be held June 8 and 9 at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta, Ga. This year’s theme is “Medieval Times.” Jackie Hale of Columbiana, Ala., will be the judge and Donna Walker will serve as the show manager with Shelby Reimer as show chairman. As always, the junior members of the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Georgia will be hosting the show. A total of 75 classes are offered this year, including classes for Saddlebreds, Morgans and roadsters.
Included this year are a Groom’s class and a Pro-Am pleasure Challenge class. Mid-Summer offers several Saddle & Bridle classes including the Pleasure Equitation Medallion, Shatner Western Pleasure, Hunt Seat Classic and the NHS Good Hands class.
Proceeds from Mid-Summer will be benefiting Saddlebred Rescue, a non-profit charity that is dedicated to saving American Saddlebreds. Each year, Junior ASHAG has a silent auction to help lead the way to a successful horse show. A beautiful 14k gold ring with two diamonds will also be raffled off. In addition, a progressive barn party will be held, and in following the theme, there will be a medieval feast.
