Mid-Atlantic (Mid-A) Morgan Horse Show Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Special Events

The 50th Anniversary Mid-Atlantic Morgan Horse Show will be held June 21-24 at the
Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia. The Mid-Atlantic Morgan Horse Show is known for its quality entries, making this event “A Horse Show to Remember.” Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2006 is an even more special occasion for this storied show.

FBR Open Mid-A Golf Sweepstakes

In addition to its equine competitions, Mid-A has hosted a variety of enjoyable sporting events among trainers, exhibitors, spectators and friends. These events have included golf, tug of war and softball.

This year, Mid-A welcomes the Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, Inc. (FBR), an investment banking, institutional brokerage, asset management company headquartered in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, as sponsor of the golf event.

The FBR Open Mid-A Golf Sweepstakes will be held at the nearby Vista Links Golf Course. The format of this event is different than traditional tournaments as players can play the 18-hole course whenever they get to the Lexington, VA area, and as many times as they want, as long as their score cards are turned in to show committee member CP Staley by noon on Saturday, June 24.

The event’s awards ceremony will be held in center ring on Saturday night. The winner will receive a Ping-Hoofer Extreme golf bag from this year’s FBR Open in Phoenix. The logo from the PGA tournament is on this bag. Other top players will receive golf wear from this tournament.

Additional information on the FBR Open-Mid-A Golf Sweepstakes will be available in the Horse Show office as well as directions to the golf course.

Mid-A Silent Auction

The silent auction has many unusual and exciting items to offer discriminating bidders. It will be held on the concourse of the Howard P. Anderson Coliseum, overlooking the Waldron Arena at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA. Bids can be placed throughout the 50th Anniversary Mid-Atlantic Morgan Horse Show. Managed by the Mid-A Youth Group, the auction will benefit the horse show.

The following are highlights of the items donated thus far. The list grows daily, and the Mid-A Show Committee is grateful to so many for their generous donations.
