Mid-America Spring On for Next Weekend

The Mid-America Spring Show is on for next weekend at Ledges in Roscoe, IL (just south of the IL/WI state line).  Dates are March 28-30, Thursday-Saturday, (but not Easter Sunday).  Judge is Allison Deardorff, Molalla, Oregon.

The show is included in the 2013 WCHS qualifying system so wins at Mid-America Spring will count for Pleasure, Park and Park Pleasure horses needing to qualify for Louisville.

Two TBA classes have been added to the class schedule: Show Pleasure Three Gaited Junior Horse (Thursday evening) and Show Pleasure Three Gaited Limit Horse (Friday evening).  The complete schedule is available at: www.MidAmericaHorseShow.org/shows

IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE VIRUS OUTBREAK, PLEASE TALK TO YOUR VETERINARIAN AND GET THE FACTS.

According to Dr. Dean Peterson of the Janesville Equine practice….

  • –Saddlebred barns shouldn’t have to worry as long as they use common sense and biosecurity….meaning don’t go to a barn that has a respiratory infection.
  • –horses should be up to date on rhino/flu shots.
  • –the virus lives outside the horse for only 1-2 days (on hands, tack)

The Ledges facility has not had any horses or horse shows there for five weeks. Mid-America Spring is the first show since February. (Ledges does not have boarders.)

Ledges’ entire stabling area has been saturated with Roccal D and Clorhexidine solution disinfectants as a precaution.

If you haven’t already, please get your stall reservations to Cheryl Rangel ASAP:
