Mid-A Honors Year-end Champions

Members of the Mid-Atlantic Morgan Horse Club gathered on November 16, 2002, for a meeting of the adult and youth members and to honor the Year-end Award Champions. The meeting and dinner was held at the Timbers Restaurant in Mt. Gretna, PA.

Nina Quinn, Mid-A Vice President, called the meeting to order. She reviewed minutes from the club’s spring meeting as well as review the Treasurer’s report. Al Lucine, Mid-A Show Committee Chairman, gave a brief and financially positive report on the 2002 show.

Mid-A will once again cosponsor a Spring Fling Horse Show with the Morgan Horse Association of New Jersey. It will be held on April 6, 2003, at the New Jersey Horse Park. Dan Williams will be the judge and Gail Catlow will return as show manager. In addition to a Morgan division, the show will offer a division open to all breeds.

Nina also announced that Mid-A will sponsor a Morgan promotional booth at the Harrisburg (PA) Equine Expo, February 28-March 3, 2003. Gail Catlow and Stacey Catlow-Zebian are the co-chairs of this promotional committee.

During a brief business meeting, Kara Hose of Clear Spring, MD, was named Youth President. (Kara was the 2002 Mid-A Youth of the Year and competed in the AMHA Youth of the Year contest at the Morgan Grand National this past October, where she also won the World Classic Saddle Seat Equitation Championship.
