McConnell’s Show Horse Supply Supporting Saddlebred Rescue

McConnell’s Show Horse Supply has announced that starting August 2015, all purchases from its Specialty Tack & Equipment store will automatically include a 1% donation to Saddlebred Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting the rehabilitation and repurposing of Saddle Horses.

This arrangement will automatically donate 1% of the purchase price of all customer orders to Saddlebred Rescue on a monthly basis and there will be no add-on to prices. This approach will allow customers of McConnell’s Show Horse Supply to donate to the worthy cause of re-purposing American Saddlebred Horses and other Saddle Breeds while they are purchasing the quality tack, equipment, clothing, and supplies they need for their own horses and riders.

McConnell’s Show Horse Supply is an online and West Coast show shop that specializes in equipment, tack, supplies, and clothing for the Saddleseat Show and Harness Industries. They started in 2004 as a small West Coast supplier and have grown to provide specialized goods to owners & trainers of American Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians, Friesians, Hackney Ponies and Tennessee Walkers (and their crosses) throughout the US, Canada and South Africa. They pride themselves on personalized customer service and an understanding of the individual needs of customers.

Karen McConnell, owner of McConnell’s Show Horse Supply, notes, “We have been wanting to do something like this for years. We think it’s a win for everyone – our customers, our growing company, the show horse industry, but especially the horses. We believe in the notion of taking care of our own and we like the way the Saddlebred Rescue organization goes about their business. They educate, they rehabilitate and, when possible, adopt out Saddle Horses to productive new lives.”

Saddlebred Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that is based in New Jersey and works diligently to rescue, rehabilitate, re-purpose and adopt out saddle horses who were at risk of slaughter. Through their program, many horses have been saved and many people have new lesson or pleasure horses that would not have made it without their help.  Donations supply the organization with feed, housing, veterinary care, and training for Saddle Horses.
