The Luck Of The Irish Showered Down Over The ASAC Spring Horse Show

by Lauren Camp DeHaan

CLEMSON, S.C. - It was a lucky sort of weekend at the ASAC Spring Horse Show as trainers, spectators and exhibitors alike donned their St. Patrick’s Day garb and headed out for the first Carolinas show of the year on March 15-17. As always ASAC boasted a fabulous party - this year featuring a new band thanks to Erin Hall - a limbo contest, as well as terrific shrimp, chicken and hush puppies to complete the “beachy” festivities. Show co-managers Nancy Boone and Henry Jumper outdid themselves again this year putting on a great show, not to mention showing exhibitors some southern hospitality.

Attendees enjoy ASAC for its lively atmosphere as well as the quaint town of Pendleton located just minutes away. People could enjoy great treats at the Farmer’s Hall restaurant or at the Pendleton Sandwich Company, as well as great shopping at little boutiques and specialty shops such as Mountain Made, Curlis and Company and The Mercantile. Pendleton also boasts a wonderful wine shop that many exhibitors enjoyed visiting.

Another treat at this year’s ASAC Horse Show was the Friesian exhibition. The crowd always loves to see these awesome animals take center stage with their big trots and flowing manes.

Ringmaster Ted Foreman kept everyone safe in the show ring, while Beth Viering and Deborah Coley kept things running smoothly in the office. All in all ASAC turned out to be a treat in the spring for spectators and exhibitors alike.
