“Lively Shively” In the DeLovely Tradition

ROCKPORT
, Ind. - Raymond and Lillian Shively along with Todd and Lesley Miles hosted their annual “Lively Shively” Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 9 at their historic stable on Highway 66 just over the Ohio River from Owensboro, Ky. The anticipated and sentimental gathering was a chance for the farm’s customers, colleagues and friends to gather and celebrate the holidays and reflect on the fun and success of the past show season. It was also a time to look ahead as several horses were presented to new owners.

Upon arrival Saturday evening, guests were greeted by Lillian Shively and Leslie Miles. They were then treated to cocktails and a buffet dinner catered by the Rockport Inn as they were surrounded by the peaceful sound of Christmas carols sung by a friend of the DeLovely family. Mingling with friends, sharing memories of years past…there’s no better way to wrap up the season and toast to the season to come.

The time eventually came for the much anticipated awards and horse presentations. After introducing and thanking her hardworking staff, Lillian presented several of their talented equitation riders with awards for their various accomplishments throughout the year. Headed by Karen Medicus, the staff presented Mary Jane Fredrickson with the DeLovely Customer of the Year Award. This is an award voted on by the staff members and has such criteria as loyalty, sportsmanship, humor and wardrobe. The evening was concluded with the presentation of horses to new owners before the Jimmy Church Band cranked up the volume for the many late night revelers.

Dressed to the nines,

Courtney McGinnis, Hunter Chancellor and Macey Miles.

Kalu’s Can’t Stop The Magic was presented to

Ellen Medley Wright as her new equitation mount.

Miss Majesticness performed for the crowd

before being presented to Callie Smith.
