Linda A. Albery - Obituary



Linda A. Albery, 76 of Columbia passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at her home with family by her side. 

Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held in Decatur, IL as well as in Chandler, AZ at a later date.  Linda was born July 4, 1938, in Decatur, IL to Robert H. and Helen M. Wilson, both whom have preceded her in death.  During Linda’s professional career she served as Marketing & Public Relations Manager for Kat Productions, Bismarck, ND, Public Information Specialist, Bank of North Dakota, Bismarck, ND, Airline Projects Director for Excalibur Aviation, Bismarck, ND, Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Fisher Industries, Dickinson, ND, Editor and Director-Publicity and Advertising Manager for the American Saddlebred Horse Association, Louisville, KY. 

She had published works in “Saddle & Bridle”, “The National Horseman”, “The American Saddlebred”, “The Rural Kentuckian”, and “The Western Horseman” magazines,  She was a member of former President Ronald Reagan’s Inaugural Press Corp.  An avid supporter of the American Saddlebred Horse, she coordinated the American Breed of Horses US Postal Commemorative Stamp for the American Saddlebred.  Linda was appointed to the American Biographical Institute Board Advisors, Dickinson, ND, Area Chamber of Commerce Director of the Year, noted in Who’s Who Platinum Edition Worldwide, Who’s Who of Women Executives and 2,000 Notable American Women.  National Association of Female Executives, Civil Service Commissioner, Western History Museum Task Force, A member of the Order of the Golden Arrow Pi Beta Phi Fraternity Indiana Epsilon, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Kappa Pi Art Honorary. 

She leaves behind daughters Cindy Downes and husband Tom of Columbia and Laura Fisher of Chandler, AZ as well as grandchildren, Chris Nichols and Ashley McCauley of Kansas City, MO and Katherine, Ashley, and James Fisher of Chandler, AZ.  She was reunited in Heaven with her parents and her beloved rescue dog Molly Brown. 

The family would like to thank the Medical Staff at Missouri Cancer Associates and give special thanks to the team at Hospice Advantage.  Without your kindness, care and compassion this journey would not have been so peaceful.  To the friends that have crossed her path, you have touched our hearts; we thank you and are ever grateful.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice Advantage Foundation or the American Cancer Society.  Online stories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.heartlandcremation.com.
