Lillian Mae Baynton Passes Away



Lillian Mae Baynton, passed away Aug. 19,2009. She was 90 years young. Lillian pleasure rode Saddlebreds but helped her daughter, Fay, learn and love the the breed and make her career training and showing Saddlebreds. Lillian was secretary and manager of the River Ridge Horse Show in the 1980s, helped start the Ohio American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association, and was secretary and manager of the Twin Rivers Horse Show and Heartland horse shows in Central Ohio. She also helped start the All American Youth Horse Show in Columbus, Ohio.

Baynton was one of the first Women Pilots of World War II and was  in the Red Cross serving in Purma , India during the war. She was an accomplished artist who painted some beautiful watercolor paintings., as well as a seamstress who sewed many a riding suit for Fay in her youth.

She will be missed by her daughters Fay and Marilyn Baynton, and Fay’s dog, Billy Jean, and cat, Gracie.
