Lexington Jr. League Show Coverage – Tuesday Evening

Tuesday Evening

Tuesday evening was off to a great start as the clouds seemed to have moved out. For most of the session the rain held off but unfortunately for the Junior Three-Gaited class the wind picked up and the rain settled in for the remaining two classes.

The evening session began with the Amateur Three-Gaited Gentlemen To Ride. Trainer Scott Perrelli paired up Nic de Wet with the animated By Honor Bound for the win for owner Marianne Bantrup. CH Hayden Fox and Kevin Ingram earned the red ribbon for Delton Farms.

Next in were the Hackney horses competing in their singles class. A proud Beth Jones earned the blue with Wentworth Lucifer. The striking Heartland Blizzard and Karen Waldron graciously accepted the red ribbon.

The Junior Five-Gaited Mare class was the next to hit the ring with seven top entries competing for the title. Taking command of the ring for the win was the beautiful According To Lynn with Mary Gaylord McClean in the irons. The flashy Dunkin Donut with Don Harris garnered the red streamers for owner Cathy Hazen.

Top competition continued to grace the ring as the Amateur Fine Harness entries made their way into the ring. With his lofty trot and huge presence Gothic Revival unanimously captured the blue with Joan Adler on the lines. (SA) Dorian Warriors Song and Bill Blacklaw had a great show to claim the reserve ribbon.

Elegance continued with the Ladies Three-Gaited 15.2 and Under. The tried and true performer CH Lady Periana earned the blue with Phillipa Sledge. Audrey Hepburn was beautiful with her swan-like neck to earn the reserve title with Morgan Wolin.

Sweetheart Of Success marched down the rail to earn the blue ribbon in the Open Harness Pony with Karen Waldron on the lines. Reserve honors went to Romeo’s Best Girl and Abel Vega for Golden Creek Farms.

Mary Gaylord McClean had quite a night adding another blue ribbon to her list with the win aboard I’m A Treat in the Amateur Five-Gaited Stallions/Geldings. Reserve went to Lakeview’s Rare A Phi and Misdee Wrigley.

The sped demons were in next to compete in the Amateur Gentlemen Roadster To Bike. William Shatner was on the lines to capture the blue with the multi-titled All Glory under the direction of Danette Musselman. The crowd was stirred up about the performance of Cosmical and Wes Hall as they earned the reserve title in just their third drive together.

CH Yes It’s True put on a spectacular show for the win the Open Three-Gaited Over 15.2. Sam Stafford expertly piloted this amazing horse to the winner’s circle for Pidgeon Roost Farm. The ever-elegant Sunshine Way earned the reserve title with Lisa Strickland presenting for Julie Hambrick.

Karen Waldron continued her success as she drove the fabulous high-stepping On The Mark to the win in the Open Hackney Pony. Beth Jones’ entry Diamond’s Whiz Bang earned the reserve title.

In Bold Print has successfully made the move into the fine harness division. This grand horse, presented by Mike Barlow, captured the open stallion/gelding blue for owner Melissa Scrushy. The bold VHF The Licorice Drop Kid and Tom Lee earned the red streamers.

Twenty-six entries made the gate call for the Amateur Three-Gaited Park. Not only did you have to do a super job of maneuvering and getting seen but there was no room for error. Perfect Vengeance and Kaitlyn Grom teamed up this year in Grom’s move into the amateur ranks and it has been a great season so far with titles from River Ridge and Bonnie Blue. With another standout performance this team topped this hugely competitive class. Reserve honors went to another team who has won title after title this season: CH Justa Rascal and Megan McClure. CH Callaway’s Smart Angle and Emily Hess Levine earned a strong third.

The Hackney/Harness Pony Pairs were next in to compete. Both pairs of entries from Joel Brown went one-two with the pair of Gifted Love and Romeo’s Copycat presented by Jamie Fox taking top honors and Diamond’s Show N Off and Avante Guard with Lela Edwards earning the reserve title.

The ladies were back in the ring to present their five-gaited geldings. Capturing the blue was a thrilled Misdee Wrigley aboard CH Title Bound. CH Walterway’s Remember Me and Ceil Wheeler had a great performance to garner the red streamers.

In the Junior Three-Gaited Over 15.2 Grande Gil had a superb show with Neil Visser in the irons. This team earned the blue for Joan Hamilton. Lovin’ Lass and Sam Stafford claimed the red ribbon for Creekridge LLC.

The little speedsters were up next with a highly competitive class of amateur teams. Topping the class was Heartland Production with Mary Gaylord McClean. Elise Johnson was in the bike behind Old Memories capturing the red streamers. A thrilled Brenda Kelly drove Cappuccino to a strong third.

The Open Five-Gaited Mare class closed out the session. Fresh off wins at Midwest, Intoxicating Conversation continued her streak as she won this class with Melissa Moore up for Adler Farms. George Knight presented Angelene to the reserve title for Georgia Herpin Baker.
