Legendary Trainer Dale Pugh Passes

Donald Dale Pugh, 90, of New Bloomfield passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Mo.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Hopewell Baptist Church in New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Rick Hopkins officiating.

He was born April 10, 1917, in Nodaway County. He was united in marriage to Glenda A. Poteet Pugh, who survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Donald Dale Pugh Jr. of Eolia; other relatives; and many dear friends. His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Dale was a horse trainer. He served our country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Saddlebred Museum in Lexington, Ky., or to the charity of the donor’s choice, in care of Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, Mo., 65251.
