Larry and Karen Carver Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Larry and Karen Carver, of Hundred Acre Wood Farm in Catlettsburg, Ky., celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sept. 3, 2011 at the Alexandria Fair and Horse Show in Campbell County, Ky.

They were honored with a champagne reception at the exhibitor's party Sunday night, which was particularly appropriate since they were first introduced at the exhibitor's party at the old Cabell-Huntington Charity Horse Show in 1957.

Joining in the celebration were their daughters and sons-in-law, Kip and Laurin Noe of Ashland, Ky, and Chris St. Clair and Dr. Kelly Carver of Fort Myers, Fla., and grandchildren Annabel Kippi Noe of Ashland and Carver Koella of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Both Larry and Karen are still exhibiting their horses and both won first place ribbons at Alexandria. They have owned and operated Hundred Acre Wood Farm, an American Saddlebred facility, since Larry's retirement as State Tax Counsel from Ashland Oil in 1992.
