Lampe Receives ARIA Master Instructor Award

FULTON, MO –Gayle Lampe, professor of equestrian science at William Woods University, recently received the highest honor given by the American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA)—the Master Instructor Award.

 

The award was presented during the awards luncheon at the National Riding Instructors Convention in Naples, Fla., Dec. 4.

 

“The award is given to an instructor who has reached the pinnacle of success and accomplishment, while maintaining the highest standards of personal and professional integrity,” said Charlotte Kneeland, ARIA director.

 

Past recipients include Helen Crabtree, George H. Morris, Denny Emerson, Jack LeGoff, Bertalen deNementhy, Michael Page, Joseph Vanorio and Robert Dover.

 

Lampe is a national and international icon in equestrian science. She is an instructor, coach, trainer, judge and rider. Since 1968, she has been an instrumental force in William Woods University's nationally acclaimed equestrian studies division.

Earlier in the year, Lampe received the Audrey Gutridge Award and The Castleman Award for her outstanding contribution to the professional equine industry. Other awards she has received include the United Professional Horseman’s Association Equitation Instructor of the Year Award, the Missouri-Kansas Horse Person of the Year Award at the American Royal Horse Show and the Distinguished Professor Award at William Woods University.
