Kentucky Derby box seats added to ASHA Auction

Lexington, Kentucky – The ASHA Annual Auction, which will take place Wednesday and Thursday, August 24-25 in the Mary Room of the Executive West Hotel, has close to 300 items for the silent and live auction.  Auction booklets will be available at the stables, various hotels and the ASHA Saddlebred Center at the World’s Championship Horse Show beginning Sunday, August 21.

Added to the list of notable items for the live auction is a premium terrace box of six seats on the third level for the 2006 Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.

Few tickets remain for the $20,000 ASHA Annual Raffle, which will award 15 winners in center ring Thursday, August 25 at the World’s Championship Horse Show.

To purchase a remaining ticket, call the American Saddlebred Horse Association (859) 259-2742.  The ASHA Annual Raffle proceeds benefit the ASHA youth programs and the new ASHA Futures Fund, which benefits the technological advances of ASHA.

Fifteen winners will be drawn at the Annual ASHA Auction at 2:30 p.m. in the Mary Room of the Executive West Hotel in Louisville.  Later that evening the 15 winners will be escorted to center ring to receive their prize.

Junior Judging will return to the World’s Championship Horse Show with two possible judging sessions during the 9 a.m. horse show sessions Tuesday, August 23 or Friday, August 26.  Participants judge classes and their results are compared with the actual results of the classes.  The participant with the best score in age groups 13 and under or 14-17 is the winner.  Junior Judging packets will be available in the horse show office and the ASHA Saddlebred Center.  For more information on Junior Judging please contact Jennifer Gibson, ASHA program administrator, by calling (859) 259-2742 ext. 343 or e-mail j.gibson@asha.net
