Kenneth Wheeler, Sr. Passes

Sad news out of Keswick, Virginia, today (March 3rd) with the passing of Kenneth Wheeler, Sr., 92. People in the American Saddlebred and Hackney worlds knew Wheeler through his involvement with his late wife, Sallie B. Wheeler, and his son Kenny, daughter-in-law Ceil, and grandchildren Catherine and Sallie-Mason and Rose Marie Wheeler, however, he was an icon in the hunter/jumper world.
A private funeral will be held Friday for the noted horseman who is a member of the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame and Virginia Horse Show Association Hall of Fame as well as the recipient of the USEF Lifetime Achievement Award. A Celebration of Life is being planned for later this summer.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Virginia Horse Center Foundation, Danny & Ron’s Rescue, the Hospice of Piedmont or a charity of your choice.
