Jubilee Farm Dispersal
Monday, February 5, 2007
The complete dispersal (40 head) of Hackney ponies from Rodney Root’s Jubilee Farm will be held April 7, 2007 in conjunction with the Spring Hackney Sale at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, Ky.
Jubilee Farm is one of the country’s premier breeders of Hackney ponies. Many world’s champions have been bred and started by Mr. Root. Par Excellence, Sweetheart Of Success, Stately Affair, Lovelyanna, Majestic Reverie and Attention Please are all Jubilee Farm-bred Hackneys. Dun Haven Show Time, Dun Haven Rare Elegance and Sure Enough are also products of the Jubilee Farm program. The dams of both Vindicator and Twin Willow’s McMillan were bred by Jubilee Farm.
The current broodmare band is comprised of mares by DH Awesome Creation, DH Ringmaster, Mark Of Excellence, Dun Haven Little King, Titlist and Heartland Supreme King. These mares carry the service of Dun Haven Celebrity and Kingsley Claim To Fame. Dun Haven Celebrity sired the winner of the junior pleasure driving class at the Kentucky State Fair in 2006. The junior herd sire, Kingsley Claim To Fame, is by Kingsley Acclaim, who is by The Extremist and out of Dun Haven Wicked Ways (dam of Dun Haven Center Attraction). Eleven yearlings by these two horses, plus two by Regal’s Rascal LF, give prospective buyers many different choices in size, color and way of going.
The two-year-olds are a star-studded group. A filly by Twentieth Century and a colt by Regal’s Rascal LF have drawn rave reviews. The three-year-old ponies are for the discriminating buyer of road ponies, cob tails and pleasure ponies. Of special note is a pleasure mare by Dun Haven Center Attraction that both rides and drives.
No animals will be sold prior to the sale. For more information contact Rodney Root at (860) 983-5685.
