Jimmy Cole Passes Away

Longtime ringmaster Jimmy Cole lost his battle with lung cancer Oct. 30, 2003. Cole had been a ringmaster for 18 years at such shows as The American Royal, Morgan Grand Nationals and Kentucky Fall Classic.
Cole also ringmstered at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration for several years and even served as a judge there twice in 1970 and 1985. Cole was also one of the very first DQPs in the walking horse industry following the passing of the Horse Protection Act in 1970.
The funeral was held Monday, Nov. 3 in Jackson, Tenn., at the First Baptist Church.
