2008 Iowa Summer Spectacular Cancelled

From the Show Management of the Iowa Summer Spectacular:
We have made the decision to cancel the 2008 Iowa Summer Spectacular Horse Show due to the flooding in Cedar Rapids. Although the facility hasn't flooded, it has been taken over by FEMA to house animals rescued from the flood waters. As of early this week, nearly 200 of the stalls in the horse barn were occupied by flood victims and they have no idea when the facility will be able to return to normal operations.
We decided to cancel so that exhibitors will have time to make plans to attend other shows that weekend. We also have a concern about the quality of the water supply, disease transmission from the animals pulled out of the floodwaters, etc.
We would like to emphasize that the show will return in 2009!
