Iowa show names judge

Kentuckian Melissa Moore, a long-time Saddlebred enthusiast, will judge the Iowa Summer Spectacular Horse Show set July 30-Aug. 1. Moore is trainer and owner of Sunrise Stables in Versailles, Ky. The 110-class show, which is for Saddlebreds, Morgans, and Hackney Ponies, will be held at the Kirkwood Equestrian Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Marion VandeWall, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, will be the announcer, and Randy Roberts, Apple Valley, Minn., will be organist. "We have over 200 entries already, and we're very excited," said Susan Aschenbrenner, promoter for the show. The show will benefit Miracles in Motion, a non-profit equine therapy foundation for challenged riders, located in Cedar Rapids. Several riders from Miracles in Motion will do a demonstration on Saturday evening, July 31, she said. For more information, call Aschenbrenner, (515) 278-2714.
