Indianapolis Charity Unveils New Look and Location for 50th Anniversary!
Thursday, February 16, 2023
The Indianapolis Charity Horse Show is excited to announce a new look and a new venue for the show’s 50th Anniversary (1973 – 2023). The show committee invites everyone to join them this summer for a “Party at the Park” at Indy’s new location, the beautiful Hoosier Horse Park in Edinburgh, IN.
Dates are June 28 through July 1, with proceeds from the show benefitting Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding.
Best known as the site for the equestrian competition of the 1987 Pan American Games, the Hoosier Horse Park is set amid the rolling hills and trees of Johnson County Park just off I-65, one hour north of Louisville and 30 minutes south of Indianapolis.
Competition will take place in the bright and spacious Baker Arena which features a 125’ x 270’ indoor show ring. With such a large arena available, Indy is delighted to welcome back the roadster horse and Dutch Harness divisions, plus a complete line up of classes for Saddlebreds, Hackney ponies, Friesians, equitation, open pleasure, and academy. The show will also offer ASHBA National Select Series classes for the first time.
Judge for all sessions is Darrell Case, Simpsonville, Kentucky. The venue may have changed but exhibitors can expect the same warm, Hoosier hospitality as in years past. Recreational activities are available in Johnson County Park and surrounding area. Hotels, restaurants and shopping are located 11 minutes from the Park at the I-65/U.S.31 exit (Indiana Premium Outlets) and at the I-65 Franklin exit.
