Tuesday, July 13, 2004
James Nichols, manager/trainer at Cryst-A-Kell Farm, Paducah, Ky., announced the hiring of Brooke Hovey as instructor. A native of Maine, Hovey started her equitation career with Annalisa Hall at Mariways and then continued under the direction of Gary and Marsha Garone at Fairfield South. Riding Bubble and Squeak during the late ‘90s she twice won equitation classes at Louisville and was also Top 10 in the NHS Good Hands Finals at Madison Square Garden and the AHSA Medal Finals at Kansas City.
Following her junior exhibitor days she attended William Woods and then worked with Somersdream and Wright Way Stables. Most recently she took some time off and leased her own horses. Returning to the professional ranks, Hovey looks forward to working with the Cryst-A-Kell staff in developing riders of all ages. Her duties at Cryst-A-Kell will include working with the show riders as well as the beginners in the large lesson program.
“I’m looking forward to building relationships with the clients, having fun and doing well,” said Hovey. “There is a great atmosphere here with a really nice riding program.”
