Helen K. Crabtree Passes Away

Saddle horse icon Helen K. Crabtree peacefully passed away Friday, January 4, 2002 in Simpsonville, Ky.

Known as the foremost authority on saddle seat equitation, Crabtree spent a lifetime teaching and training in the saddle horse industry. Throughout her career she deeply touched the lives of many students as well as future equitation instructors. Among her awards, she received the AHSA Lifetime Achievement Award, the UPHA Hall of Fame Award, the World’s Championship Horse Show Hall of Fame Award, and the UPHA renamed their Equitation Instructor of the Year Award in her tribute.

The funeral will be held on Monday January 7, 2002 at 1:00PM in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
