TAMPA, FLORIDA - The 40
th Annual Harvest Days Horse Show was held at the Florida State Fairgrounds outside Tampa, Florida, November 2-4, 2007. The sister show to the Tampa Charity in the spring, Harvest Days prides itself in being a less formal horse show and extremely family oriented.

 

The Tampa Horse Shows Association that is extremely proud to offer riders of all ages and means the opportunity to compete organizes the show. The show offered a full schedule of classes for Saddlebreds, Morgans, Hackneys, roadsters and equitation. After Saturday evening’s performance, the show held its fabulous themed exhibitors party. In years past there has been the Mad Hatters and the Tacky Tourist, this year everyone was asked to wear their silliest shades. Another great time was had by all at the end of Friday evening’s session with the Equine Costume and Dog Costume classes. This year the gang from Whispering Oaks won the Equine Costume with their Thriller entry and for the second year in a row Ellie Lang, daughter of Pam Roush and Andy Lang, dressed as Little Red Riding Hood with the Big Bad Wolf at her side.

 

Topping the Five-Gaited Jackpot Championship was the junior campaigner Endure. Ali DeGray was in the irons for the win. Reserve honors went to the little powerhouse CH Small Packages and Cassi Rath. Rath and “Peanut” were reunited a few weeks and ago and returned to the show ring winning the junior exhibitor qualifier.

The tricolor in the Three-Gaited Jackpot Championship went back to Silver Run Stables with Cabernet’s Will Command and Kristen Thomas after an earlier reserve in the junior exhibitor qualifier. Winning the junior exhibitor qualifier in their only appearance were Pagan Prince and Ashley Judd. Ali DeGray was back to the winner’s circle this time with Wee Pee’s Storm in the junior exhibitor championship.

 

Allison Beard debuted on Lime Twisted Gin with a powerful performance to win the Open Park Jackpot Championship for the Jacquelyn Stred Trust. Bintang Baru and Euchee Matthews were reserve for Joy Rodak. Ali DeGray had a great week as she earned two more victories this time sweeping the junior exhibitor park division with Callaway‘s Tobar. Tap Town and Tori Dennis were reserve in both. Euchee Matthew was in the irons for the blue in the junior/novice class with Rare Vos with Cynthia

Kueker. Maria Gilman presented The Indian Princess to the red ribbon for Lynne Martin.

Joe Friday and Ruth Gimpel had a single stunning performance for the victory pass in the Open Fine Harness Jackpot Stake for proud owner Helen Rosburg.

 

James Rosburg had his time in the spotlight sweeping the roadster to bike with Humdinger. Top Star Willie and Paul Misiewicz earned the championship reserve. Mary Jo Schmidt presented her new star Valentino Express to the qualifying reserve in their only appearance.

 

Jayna Taylor was in the bike for Yvonne Herrera winning the road pony championship and junior exhibitor qualifier with Jackrabbit. Baby Cakes and Andie Lloyd earned the reserves in the open championship and junior exhibitor qualifiers. Bud Light and James Rosburg were the amateur winners in their only appearance.

 

Match Maker and Elsa Hackett swept the Hackney pleasure driving pony division. Ali DeGray was on the lines earning the championship reserve with Holly Go Lightly with her mom, Helen Rosburg, driving to the qualifying reserve.

Nicky Appleton was aboard Supreme Dixie for owner Maria Gilman to sweep the adult show pleasure division, with Tropical Heir and Kay Harrell earning both reserves. CH My Special Sultan swept the junior exhibitor division with Jayne Major in the irons in the championship and Ashley Judd in the irons in the qualifier. Jayna Taylor topped the novice class with Titleist Twilight.

Patricia Bonati was on the lines earning back-to-back wins in the show pleasure driving with He’s Real Bad. Denzel and Jayna Taylor earned both reserves for Yvonne Herrera.

 

Midtown Man and Helen Rosburg were the stars in the adult country pleasure sweeping the division. Stablemate Sommersby earned the reserve championship with Susan Greenberg after an earlier win in the novice qualifier. Reserve in the adult qualifier went to All Systems Go and Rachel Gard. Bouquet O’ Hearts and Jayna Taylor topped the junior exhibitor championship and qualifier for R Farm. Reserve junior exhibitor championship and reserve novice qualifying honors went to Pikachu and Amy Lee.

Helen Rosburg continued her success with a single appearance win in the Country Pleasure Driving with Harlem’s Worldly Lady. Winning the championship and earning the qualifying reserve was Galahad’s Gold Mine and Jean Johnson.

 

Riding Sapphire Blue, Rick Davis captured the western championship and the open qualifying reserve. Rumble Strip and Patrick Niemann earned the qualifying open and championship reserves and the amateur blue.

 

Jackie Taylor turned in a solid performance to win the 13-and-Under Saddle Seat Equitation. Winning the 11-and-Under Walk-and-Trot Equitation was Esme Yarnell with Natalia Aponte in for reserve.

 

DJE Answer To Destiny and Euchee Matthews were the top entry in the Morgan English Pleasure Championship and qualifier with THK Wild Adonis and Jason Gray earning reserve for Mary Jean Bonfili.

 

HVK Flaire Park and Glenn Winograd swept the amateur division with HVF Diamond Bold and Cliona Curran capturing both reserves. Sunny Acres In A Flash and Emily Whiting moved up winning the junior exhibitor division. Winning the junior exhibitor qualifier and returning for the reserve was HVK Acclamation and Channing Ligas.

DMMF Confident Aire and Rachel Roth topped the Morgan 11-and- Under Walk-and-Trot Pleasure. They also won the all breed walk-and-trot championship and all breed 11-and-under qualifier. Grand Cru St Emilion and Casey Stein garnered a pair for red streamers in the Morgan 11-and-Under Walk-and-Trot Pleasure and the all breed 11-and-under walk-and-trot pleasure.

had a successful weekend winning three classes

under the direction of Valarie Siemer.

 

Lark Henry was on the lines to win the Morgan Open Pleasure Driving with HVK Standing Ovation for Herbert V. Kohler. Reserve went to HVK Flaire Park and Valarie Siemer.


All Hail To The Chief and Karen Harry moved up to win the Morgan Amateur Classic Pleasure after a reserve in the qualifier. Winning the qualifier and the reserve championship was SEM Eternally Yours and Lisa Ferguson.

 

Night On The Town and Taylor Ekovich topped the junior exhibitor championship after a qualifying reserve for James Wallace. The also swept the classic pleasure driving. RW String Of Pearls and Jessica Stone were the winning team in the junior exhibitor qualifier for Bobbin Hollow. They returned for the championship reserve.

Merlot and Lauren Tyner garnered the tricolor in the western championship after an earlier junior exhibitor qualifying reserve. Like The Candy and Janice Scotto topped the junior exhibitor qualifier, earned the open reserve and returned for the championship reserve. Winning the open qualifier was PTR Ms. Behavin’ and Rick Davis.

 

Davis was back to the winner’s circle two more times sweeping the open hunter division with Lisa McDonald’s Imposter. HVK Marquis and Ashley Fix won the hunter junior exhibitor. They also swept the all breed hunter division. Monnington Soul and

Channing Ligas earned the junior exhibitor reserve in a single performance.

 

Queen’s Protocol and Channing Ligas raced away with the blue in the Morgan Junior Exhibitor Roadster Under Saddle.

 

Jessica Stone was in top form winning the Morgan Classic Equitation.

 

The majestic Rommy captured the all-breed pleasure championship with Lisa Misiewicz after an earlier win in the qualifier. My New Toi LOA and Austin Smith earned both reserves. Both reserves in the all-breed hunter division went to All Gussied Up and Emily Whiting. Reserve in the all-breed walk-and-trot championship went to All Systems Go and Nina Rivera after an earlier reserve in the 12-and-over qualifier. Reserve in that qualifier went to Moon Drifter and Sabrina Lutz.

 

The show closed Sunday afternoon with the academy division. Winning top ribbons in their divisions were: Mina Mueller, Katie Paige Richardson, Stephanie Olthoff, Kelly Kuziel, Robyn Borjas, Lauren Roque, Catherine Bornscheuer, Suzy King, Tiffany Randolph, Jessica Deryke, Jennifer Wayman, Falon Simmons, Katie Dunn, Laura Towell, Erica Murphy, Lauren Tresser, Terra Mount, Kate Ramsower and Emily Murphy.
