Hall Of Fame Trainer Larry Bacon Dies

Surrounded by his family, UPHA and AHHS Hall of Fame trainer Larry Bacon peacefully passed away this afternoon (February 8th) after having gone through a rough time these past few weeks. He would have been 75 this year. A longtime leader in the UPHA as well as trainer of numerous world’s and national champions, Bacon and his family have presented some of the industry’s greats in the Hackney and roadster divisions as well as a few top-notch Saddlebreds. His last Saturday night Louisville winner was 2007 Hackney Pony World’s Grand Champion and Four-Year-Old World’s Champion Lord Ovation.

Details will be updated as we receive them and a complete tribute story on the life and contributions of Larry Bacon will be featured in the March 5th edition of Saddle Horse Report.
